Patient Refusals

Users can update patient dispenses on the MyAccuSite Portal to denote if an item has been refused, reassigned to a patient, or spoiled. Follow the steps below to update a patient’s dispense:

  1. Go to the Patients tab and select the Dispenses subtab
  2. Find the patient transaction that needs to be updated
  3. Press the View Details button on that row and a slideout will appear on the right side of the screen

  1. Confirm the refusal of that item by pressing the Patient Refused button
  2. A Refusal Confirmation popup will appear onscreen asking the user to confirm the refusal.
    1. Select Refuse to move forward in the workflow
    2. Select Cancel to return to the previous screen
    3. Note: If the Refuse button is selected the action cannot be undone; the patient would no longer be associated with that item.
  3. When Refuse is selected the user will be brought to the Refusals screen and the refused item will appear in the table with a status of “Refused”

  1. Select Update Status
  2. On the Update Refusal Status screen, review the item’s details and information from the original dispense

  1. At the bottom of the screen select Refused Item Administered to a Different Patient from the Update Status dropdown and press Submit
  2. On the Assign New Patient screen, search for the new patient’s name or MRN and press the Select button on the desired patient’s row
  3. An Assign to New Patient? popup will appear onscreen asking the user to confirm the reassignment.
    1. Select Assign to assign the refused vaccine to the new patient
    2. Select Cancel to return to the previous screen
    3. Note: If the Assign button is selected the action cannot be undone; the refused vaccine will be associated with the new patient going forward.
  4. When the Assign button is selected, the item is now associated with the new patient and will appear on the Patient > Dispenses subtab and that patient’s immunization history.
