Tracking Samples with AccuShelf

AccuShelf can now help track your sample medications. Not all sample medications have NDCs or barcodes to scan, so it can be difficult to track these items.  

 

 

To help ease the difficulty of tracking we created dozens of barcodes for your sample medications.  To see a printable list of the available barcodes, click here.  

 

If you don’t see your sample item(s) on that list, you can still track them with AccuShelf using our custom item barcodes. Scanning one of these barcodes will allow you to create a new sample item to associate with it.  

 

Already have sample items tracked in inventory?

If you’re already tracking your sample items in AccuShelf, you can keep using the same workflows. But if you’d like to use the new sample item barcodes or create new custom items to associate with the items you’re already tracking, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Login to AccuShelf and go to the Inventory section
  2. Select View and choose the filter where your sample item(s) are tracked
  3. Select your item(s)
  4. Once all are selected, press the Assign Selected to Reconcile button
  5. You will be brought to the Reconcile Task List screen. Choose the most recent Ad Hoc row.
  6. On the scan items to Reconcile screen, set the quantity for all items to 0 and press Next
  7. On the Reconcile Summary Report screen press the Submit button
  8. Now go through the Receive workflow to add your samples from our [link: list of sample items] or to track those items with [link: custom barcodes]
  9. Once completed you can now dispense, load, and return the samples using the associated barcodes
