Moderna's COVID-19 Booster doses add a complexity to tracking since the same multi-dose vial can be used for Booster and Primary doses. See below how a user can use the system to simplify the requirements around Moderna COVID-19 Boosters.
Overview
- Booster dose of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine is 0.25 mL (half of primary dose).
- Maximum number of doses that may be extracted from either vial presentation should not exceed 20 doses.
- Do not puncture the vial stopper more than 20 times.
- Workflow available in AccuVax and AccuShelf for 0.25mL boosters

Additional Information
- The COVID-19 storage workflow will continue to work with this barcode, allowing you to choose what temperature environment you want to use to store.
- The booster barcode will work with either the 11-dose or 14-dose Moderna multidose vials since it is tracking 20 doses per vial due to FDA puncture guidelines.
- Run reports on Moderna booster on MyAccuSite.com by filtering on name “Moderna BOOSTER(0.25mL)”.
- All other COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson) boosters use the same dose as primary dose and do not need any additional barcodes.
